This working paper studies the determinants of trafficking for forced sexual exploitation, at a cross-country econometric analysis. The paper provides empirical support to show there exists a statistical relationship between the number of victims trafficked out a country and the level of female youth unemployment in that country and that countries more opened to globalization and having more prostitution are more likely to be destination places for trafficking victims. More information about human trafficking on the website of ILO.
