UN.GIFT, GIFTboxes featured on Cosmopolitan website

The fashion and beauty publication Cosmopolitan has featured UN.GIFT and its partnership with Stop the Traffik in a story about human trafficking on its website.

The piece follows an interview with a British victim of sexual slavery who, for six months, was forced to sleep with up to 30 men at night.

"…although more work than ever is being done to crack trafficking operations, the number of people being trafficked to the UK for sex, forced labour or domestic slavery is on the increase," the Cosmopolitan article reads.

The magazine called UN.GIFT's cooperation with the NGO Stop the Traffik to launch GIFTboxes ahead of the London Olympics a unique project to raise awareness about human trafficking.

"[The boxes are a] powerful way to show how the equivalent of 35 double-decker buses full of people are trafficked every day - duped into thinking a better life is waiting for them before being sold into sexual or domestic slavery," reads the article.
