"Woman in Law- gender is  force multiplier" Conference

( - The Expert and Student Conference "Woman in law - gender is force multiplier" will be held at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow (Poland) on March 16-17, 2012. The Conference is organised by Section of the International Public Law and Human Rights Law and The International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Centre at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow (Poland).


The aim of the international and interdisciplinary meeting is to show the role and status of women in modern society. What is more, guests from different bodies, beginning with government officials, through NGO's represenants and experts, to finish with professors and university students will bring diversified points of view.


To facilitate the dialogue, The Conference is divided into two themes : the first day focuses on positive aspects of modern women's place in science, public life and workplace so the second can be devoted to the discussion on current, constant and multiple threats to women. Furthermore both days of the conference are divided into a two sub-panels: expert lectures and discussion as well as student papers presentations.


Guest will also have a chance to participate in two side events: the exhibition on Marie Skłodowska-Curie's life and the screening of the film "Sestre" on human trafficking.


The working languages of The Conference are both Polish and English (organisers provide simultaneous English translation of expert panels).


The whole Conference is under patronage of inter alia Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Ministry of Equal Treatment, Consul of France and Consul of the United States in Cracow, Amnesty International Poland, LaStrada Foundation and others.
