International workshop in Israel
The Agency for International Development Cooperation of Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs - MASHAV - and the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center as well as the Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv are co-organizing the International Workshop "Profiles of Trafficking: Patterns, Populations & Policies" , to be held in Haifa, Israel on May 14-24, 2012.
This 11-day workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas both from country-of-origin and destination perspectives, and to learn from Israeli and international experts various standpoints, programs and methodologies.
The workshop is intended for members of the police and justice departments; social welfare and human rights organizations; heads of crisis intervention programs; psychologists and health workers dealing with trauma. The aim is also to establish a network that will nurture cross-border collaboration between Israel and countries of origin/destination in the common fight against human trafficking.
Maria Grazia Giammarinaro, the OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings will be the keynote speaker. The programme also includes lectures from international experts as well as study visits.
To participate application forms should be sent to the Israeli Diplomatic and/or Consular Representatives serving the applicant's country. They are to be submitted no later than March 1, 2012. Scholarships are available.
