GIFT boxes raise awareness during Olympic Games about human trafficking
UN.GIFT's GIFT box project, run in collaboration with the NGO Stop the Traffik, aims to raise awareness amongst both Londoners and visitors to Great Britain's capital city about victims' experience of being trafficked for sexual exploitation, forced labor, domestic servitude, and crime and begging.
Unveiled early in July, the boxes are now displayed in prominent venues throughout London, including Borough Market, Westminster Abbey and Picadilly. To find a box during the Olympics and Paralympics click here.
Follow the Olympics, GIFT boxes will be available for communities all around the UK and abroad. Community centres, schools, businesses, and all other groups will be able to host a box for a chosen period to create their own awareness-raising project around the GIFT box.
