Austria sets up first Hotline against human trafficking
The Austrian Criminal Police Office (BK) has set up a telephone hotline to receive reports of potential human trafficking cases. All reports can be made anonymously, 24 hours, seven days a week. The calls will be handled by specialized human trafficking investigators who can identify suspicious activities and take immediate action.
The hotline will also act as an international cooperation tool, promoting collaboration against human trafficking. The line can also receive reports from human trafficking cases taking place in other European countries. In order to provide prompt victim assistance, the Austrian authorities will initiate contact with their counterparts in other countries to engage in joint counter-trafficking activities.
The Hotline is available 24/7
