2012 UN.GIFT Year in Review

Efforts to combat human trafficking and end modern-day slavery were high on global priorities in 2012: US President Barack Obama announced measures to crack down on traffickers; the European Commission passed the  "EU Strategy towards the Eradication of Trafficking in Human Beings (2012-2016)"; trafficking has now been criminalized in 134 countries and territories around the world.
