Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement (SMWIPM)

Suzanne Mubarak Foundation logoA non-profit international association, SMWIPM mobilizes, empowers and engages multiple-stakeholders to build peace in its broadest and most holistic sense. An integral part of the Movement's efforts is devoted to stimulating the active participation of women and youth in building safer and more secure societies by transforming the underlying causes of violence and enhancing human security.

In 2006, SMWIPM launched the "End Human Trafficking Now!" Campaign, an initiative that places the business community at the forefront of anti-trafficking efforts. Through its website and other awareness raising tools, the campaign works to expose the multi-dimensional features of this illicit trade. To increase the involvement of the private sector, the campaign has developed the Athens Ethical Principles against human trafficking, which calls upon business leaders to express their solidarity with the victims of trafficking and commit to implementing solutions to curb the challenge.
