She is not a teacher, but an example of courage. In front a classroom, Ammu shares her story of abuse, the hardships of her life as a domestic servant. Ammu was forced by her uncle to work in a house where she was poorly fed and badly beaten. Her workload only allowed a few hours of sleep and her wages were the bounty of others. One lucky day she escaped her torturers and today she is part of a Global Classroom. They are an essential partner in all prevention, protection and prosecution efforts. Activities that CSOs engage in range from raising awareness, measuring progress of commitments made by other stakeholders, collection and analysis of data, and influencing public opinion. 12 February 2010 -  The complex nature of human trafficking calls for coordinated efforts and cooperation among governments, international organizations and other stakeholders. UN.GIFT has identified Joint Programmes as a powerful means to assist countries in tackling human trafficking, drawing on the specific expertise of each of its partners.
